Fred is a successful publicist who is embarrassed to introduce his girlfriends to his eccentric Italian family. He meets Denise, the woman of his dreams, but she only accepts being proposed after meeting her family. Backed against the wall, Fred makes a date on the set of the margarine commercial he's been working on, but Denise mistakes him for Fred's family - and falls for them.
