Nancy is an attractive, intelligent receptionist at a New York publishing firm. She unwittingly becomes romantically involved with the president of her company. As the romance blossoms, Nancy remains unaware that Stephen is engaged to another woman...a money hungry social climber. When Nancy learns the truth she is suddenly promoted but believes her new job was given to her out of pity.
