For the first time, a team from the Soviet Union came to the Olympics in Finland in 1952. Abroad, no one believed in the victory of Soviet athletes. But they did not know that the backbone of the USSR team consisted of front-line soldiers, blockade survivors, and prisoners of concentration camps.
