The two directors, sociologists and specialists in the automotive industry, wanted to present in audiovisual form the results of their research into the organization of work at Nummi (California). This plant is a joint venture between General Motors and Toyota, the latter having taken over the site and most of GM's workers in 1988 to produce vehicles distributed under both brands.
