In the village of Scilla, Peppe sets out to make a documentary on swordfish fishing to rediscover himself and the memory of Lucia, his lost love. His journey leads him into a world suspended between reality and dream, inhabited by symbolic figures and papier-mâché giants. Identifying with the male swordfish, swimming in search of its captured mate, Peppe faces his sorrow and rediscovers a forgotten inner melody. What Sound Does the Swordfish Make? is a poetic tale about love, memory, and the transformative power of returning to one’s roots.
