While taking his routine beachside jog, Haitian immigrant Marcel Lambert gets a call from his mother about the death of her lifelong friend, Simone. Marcel is taken aback by the news. Unbeknownst to his mother, Marcel has kept a secret from her about Simone, which he confides in his therapist.
