Seeking to learn about her family history, a young woman begins to question her mother, a filmmaker, about the story of her origins. At first plausible, the stories told by her mother gradually become improbable and bizarre. Confused and skeptical, the daughter challenges them, questioning her mother about the meaning of bequeathing her a fantasized collective memory.
