Carmilla is a vampire with a hopeless crush on Laura, an effortlessly cool writing major. To cope, Carmilla throws herself into toxic distractions: hooking up with a Mormon closeted lesbian whose blood tastes like repression, and murdering men (even though she finds masculine blood absolutely revolting.)
