Helena has lived in the shadows since childhood. Her mother taught her that she suffers from a life-threatening sun allergy. As a result, she hides in the darkness every day, or at least behind protective clothing. When she meets a boy her age, she begins to question her own reality and her mother's intentions. Between fear, hope, and feelings of responsibility, she tries to find out the truth—her mother's and, above all, her own.
