Chantale and Paulin, a brother and sister born of rape, meet for the first time in an orphanage in Kivu, far from their home village. Driven by the need to understand their roots, they set out in search of their mother and a sense of identity. Around them, other children, all scarred by the war in eastern Congo, share their stories of loss and displacement. In this orphanage run by Sister Clothilde, who is sometimes away on distant missions, the young people learn to support one another and rebuild their lives, forming a chosen family defined by resilience and hope.
