Anna has a dreary job as a cashier at the airport snack bar. Christmas is anything but a celebration of love for her, as she has no family or friends. Only an elderly customer tries to cheer Anna up. In vain: she has planned to commit suicide on New Year's Eve. But on Christmas Eve she meets bus driver Eddie by chance. While he instills a new zest for life in her, his own life suddenly collapses on him...
