A young man's girlfriend has disappeared without a trace. Confused, he tries to find her at the temple she mentioned the day before she disappeared. Once there, he meets a man selling fresh water and a shepherdess. As he chats with them about everyday things, he gradually begins to understand why his girlfriend left.
