The citizens of Schleswig-Holstein were not prepared for the snow disaster of 1978/1979. A snowstorm that lasted for three days with heavy gusts of up to 10 winds caused meters of snow to fall. Electricity and telecommunication networks collapsed, traffic routes and thus supplies were shut down locally for days. The film is a collection of documentary Super 8 recordings that were made privately and thus provide an insight into the personal fates of this time. The events are illustrated in interviews with the filmmakers and other contemporary witnesses. The film was commented on off-screen by Rolf Becker.
