This man is Xavier, the director's father. She films the man who, after having had three children with his wife, Dominique, leaves her for a man, François, whom he then leaves for a (much) younger man, Guillaume. In reality, the final combination is not so simple because this man leaves no one and no one leaves him either. This is the story of a family break-up that did not happen, that has been commuted into cohabitations that sometimes defy common sense, sometimes the imagination.
