It depicts how this tradition, once a cultural practice, has gradually transformed into a problematic "bad habit" (陋习). Under the pressure of exorbitant bride prices, families develop twisted values, worldviews, vanity, and competitive mentalities, creating significant social issues that affect countless rural households.
