Die Ongetemde Stem

Thirty years after the abolition of apartheid, discrimination and racial inequality are still present in the Afrikaans music industry. Despite the fact that Afrikaans was used to establish a dominant white supremacy, the origin of Afrikaans lies in the colored communities of South Africa. The documentary reveals how the nationalist white elite used Afrikaans to divide people and how contributions by colored people to the Afrikaans music industry are still overlooked.
